Temple of the Tooth Relic

The Temple of the Tooth Relic stands as one of the most important temples of Sri Lanka and South East Asia. The reason for such is because it hold the Sacred Tooth of the Lord Buddha ever since the 4th Century AD. The Kandy Lake

While Kandy is known for the many natural wonders it holds, The Kandy Lake which is located in the heart of the city is actually an artificial lake which was designed and built by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1807. At the end of the day, these Tea Factories house some of the greatest cups of tea in Asia and in visiting Sri Lanka having a freshly brewed cup of tea is a must! Cultural Dance Show

When it comes to indulging in the culture and traditions of Sri Lanka, the Kandyan Dance Show definitely tops the list in terms of Dance and Entertainment. While Sri Lanka is home to different dances from different regions, the Kandyan Dance has always held an important place in Ceylonese Culture. The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is a sanctuary which provides shelter to injured and infant elephants from around Sri Lanka. This popular destination attracts numerous foreigners every year and is a much sought after experience. The Mahouts at the orphanage take care of the elephants in captivity before eventually releasing them into the wild. It also hosts pregnant elephants with proper care and facilities and helps in the initial years of infant elephants. At times, visitors are allowed to pet elephants if permitted, and can also indulge in watching the elephants being fed or washed. This makes the 1 hour drive of 40km to the Orphanage all the more worthwhile
